Design ideas for a bachelor’s DEN

Being a bachelor is one of the best things in life. You would feel that you are married to freedom itself if you have just finished your education and moved out of your home into a city in search of your destiny.

Many rent a place and want to set it up to suit their needs. How do you know what would be best? Read on to find out how the interiors (color schemes, artwork, and furniture) can be done tastefully, even by tightening the purse.

Living room

Every time you move in and out of your home, you recline on a seat in this room. Thus, it needs a masculine vibe. Instead of the common natural tones, it is necessary to go in for dark shades of wood for the chairs and sofas. To show off more masculinity, leather sofas are the best. Their ‘barbaric yawp’ will help you to show off the room to your friends.

Strong brown tea poi (centerpiece) will be the most useful piece of furniture in the entire house. You will stack your daily newspaper on it, sip your morning coffee around it, and stretch your tired legs on it while watching TV. It serves all these purposes and more (can be converted into a temporary workstation).

Lighting and Wall

Lights must be positioned well to suit the purpose. Floor lamps and table lamps can be positioned near a gorgeous pull-out sofa bed. This will accentuate the appearance of the living room. It will have good storage space and a foldable mattress to serve the purpose of a bed anytime you wish.

Blank walls will make your house look dull, so make sure to hang good portraits or paintings. A nice bookshelf to place novels and study books is a great idea to exhibit your interests and hobbies. Photo frames with family pictures should definitely be part of this bookshelf.

A spacious study table with a rustic finish can double up as a workstation and keep you focussed all the time. Work will become a breeze and the number of hours will not be a matter of concern anymore.

Bedroom

The bedroom should be carefully curated by keeping your personality in mind. You can douse the room in neutral tones with different shades of grey as interplay.

This room can be a shared one too. A full-sized bed is a must. The bed should be swathed with sheets, whose texture and colors will bring out the identity of its owner. Let the drapes match the bed covers for more than the aesthetic appeal; it will heighten your mood.

Bathroom

The bathroom should be magnanimously treated with tiles, with cool colors, on the wall and a kota stone basin will complement the appeal of the place. Go in for automatic showers and pick a mirror with an excellent design. Remember, the lighting should be perfect as it is the first place you visit every morning.

Kitchen

A bachelor’s den is not complete without a kitchen and that too one with the right gadgets to aid with cooking. Try to put in maximum plug points for the coffee maker, food processor and even to charge the mobile. If finances are good, invest in smart home technologies.

Wall colors

Neutral colors on walls are the best. Beige, white, and cream or even a grey shade give the den of the bachelor a soft look. In fact, it makes the space look elegant and expensive.

A spacious wardrobe is a must as men have different kinds of clothing (varieties). The wardrobes need to be designed in such a way that full-length coats and suits can be hung easily. Men tend to have abundant footwear, so do not forget to have a shoe rack pretty near the entrance in the foyer.

All the above-mentioned ideas are just key ones. One need not have any restrictions while designing a bachelor’s home. With the right colors, amenities, and furniture the place can be turned into one that young men may enjoy.
