How to create your own home garden

A lot of us love having small gardens at home, don't we? But in most cases, there is either no space for a garden at home or it lacks inspiration. However, you will be surprised by how little space you will need for your home garden.

Here are a few tips on how you can transform even your smallest space into your garden and add a small green patch that will improve the look and feel of your home.

Go With A Theme

Home gardens are intimate spaces that require careful thought while selecting your plants. Soil is the major contributor to a good garden. So, first, you have to decide on your type of garden - vegetable, herbs, or a flower garden. You can even decide to go with creepers or climber plants, they are low maintenance and transform your garden area completely. And once you decide you start small and later expand.

Choose Your Plants Well

Once you have decided on the type of garden you need, start choosing your plants. Don't rush this process - you can either check online catalogues or you can go to a nursery to buy your plants directly. Pick plants that are suitable for your space - choose plants like chillies, ginger, spinach if you have a small place. You can either buy compost or create it at home (creating compost at home is usually recommended) after which you can start planting. Vegetables and fruits like - potatoes, tomatoes, pumpkins grow easily so you might want to start on those, to begin with.

Pick An Ideal Place

Plants usually require 6-8 hours of sunlight, so pick a place where sunlight and a section of your home that's easily accessible are abundant. If you like the outdoors you can also leave some space in your tiny garden for you to enjoy the leisurely evening time.

Mini Indoor Garden

A half-and-half garden helps your garden seem bigger. All you need is an empty corner for small indoor plants. You can either add a succulent collection or create a hanging garden to further save space.

Once you prepare your mini garden, it's time for you to wait. Plants take time to bloom and you need to have patience and show them care. Water your plants regularly but not too much, remove small weeds that grow around them, and most importantly try to use natural fertilizers or pesticides to always keep them fresh. Keep a close eye on them to ensure they don't get damaged. We at Malles encourage all our customers to stay connected to nature by creating small gardens individually.
